Drug Detox – First Step in Recovery

Drug detox can be incredibly beneficial to anyone who has a physical dependency on drugs or is concerned about withdrawal symptoms.

Detoxing in a safe and medically-assisted context can also help ensure that you won’t relapse while you’re experiencing withdrawal symptoms.

Many people try to quit on their own, but the intensity of the withdrawal symptoms drives them to start using again.

The combination of drug detox and inpatient drug rehab can eliminate these concerns, as well as easing the pain and discomfort that come with the first steps of recovery.

Inpatient vs. Outpatient Rehab After Detox

If your addiction is severe enough to require a drug detox, we will likely recommend that you participate in an inpatient drug rehab program.

Your detox will get you through the hardest steps, including overcoming withdrawal symptoms, adjusting to a new environment, and clearing your mind and body of the substances that were holding you back.

From there, an individualized inpatient drug rehab program can bring you the rest of the way to sobriety and set you on the path for long-term success.

Here are some of the benefits of inpatient drug rehab:

  • Structure and a convenient schedule
  • Change of scenery
  • Constant support
  • Eliminated risk of relapse
  • Medical supervision
  • Removal from negative influences and temptations
  • Ability to build support systems and friendships
  • Various therapy options
  • No stress or distractions
  • Healthy meals help improve mental and physical strength

The benefits of an inpatient drug rehab program are vast. These benefits may be physical, emotional, psychological, or some combination of each.

For individuals with severe addictions, we will most likely recommend a detox and an inpatient stay. However, each treatment program is designed based on unique individual factors.

Individual Addiction Treatment Plans

We will not provide you with the same plan we provided our last patient. There is no one-size-fits-all solution to recovery, and all treatment options will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

In certain cases, patients with controllable addictions, immovable family or work-related obligations, or other limitations may opt for outpatient care instead.

Outpatient care will still require you to be present for meetings, therapies, support groups, and other rehab activities, but you will be permitted to return home after they’re done.

If you feel that this won’t be enough to prevent you from relapsing, an inpatient stay may be better

IV Drug Detox

In more severe cases, IV detox, or detoxification therapy, can be used to help patients safely withdraw from drugs.

This type of detox helps the body purge itself of drugs and toxins. At the same time, it presents the body with nutrients and fluids that it may be lacking.

This combination of in with the good and out with the bad helps to decrease the length and severity of withdrawal symptoms, reduce potential drug cravings, and give the patient more energy.

Drug addiction alters the way the body stores and processes nutrients and toxins, which may lead to organ damage over time. Restoring the balance within your system can help eliminate this risk.

The type of IV treatment may vary from person to person, depending on which substances they abused, their body chemistry, and what nutrients may be missing in their body.

For example, alcohol is known to burn through vitamins A and B6, among other necessary substances, so an IV detox for an alcoholic might contain these substances.

Depending on the drug of choice, it may also include other vitamins, minerals, amino acids, or antioxidants. Calcium, magnesium, chromium, zinc, vitamin C, and vitamin B are the most commonly seen vitamin and mineral deficiencies in people who abuse drugs or alcohol.

A physical exam and blood work can help us determine exactly what you need to beat withdrawal symptoms, gain energy, and expedite your recovery.

Drug Detox Facilities Near Me

When you’re considering getting sober, it’s important not to pick your drug detox center based solely on location or price.

What’s more important than these factors is that your facility is accredited, you feel comfortable with the staff, it’s in a setting that feels safe and comfortable to you, and it gives you hope.

We are nestled into 2 beautiful locations in Arizona, surrounded by cacti and glimmering sunshine, tucked back away from the outside world where temptations lie, and constructed with the comfort, health, and happiness of each of our patients in mind.
